PHYLOSOPHY

The Creation of "Formless Things"

The concept of "formless things" in our clothing design was born

from a deep sense of indignation toward modern society.

We perceive our thoughts through the magic of words and

letters—an invention of Homo sapiens—that allows us to grasp the contours of the mind.

However, we are not magicians.

In recent years, society has increasingly shifted toward defining everything in

extremes—good or evil, black or white.

Yet, we live in a three-dimensional world.

In a world obsessed with rigid "forms" without considering depth,

we feel an urgent sense of the rewilding of humanity.

By exploring the act of "carrying clothing on one's back" and the concept of "formless things,

" we design our stance toward modern society.

RURU TANAKA

At THETHE, we primarily create showpieces and ready-to-wear garments.

We offer rental services for costumes and accept made-to-order purchases through our online store.

THETHE’s garments reflect our core concept of creating "formless things,"

embodying the idea of "carrying clothing on one's back."

The "Gun Flower Pants," expressing the image of a ruptured gun barrel.

The "Muff Pocket P Coat," featuring a vent that symbolizes both the "posture" of

muff pockets and Twiggy’s iconic mini skirt.

The "Jelly Fish," inspired by the fluid form of a jellyfish.

By crafting garments without starting from pattern-making or design sketches,

we transform stories and prayers into clothing—

designing a stance toward modern society.
